Not a Secret anymore!!

Hey there Peeps! Well, it’s time to let you in on the little secret I ‘ve been keeping!! First, my blog (yep, the one your are looking at!!) is part of a blog hop!! So, welcome to all those people who have hopped on over from Diecut Diva. (In fact, if you are just stopping by Gemstone Creations, you’ll want to hop on over there first…just to get the whole “effect”. You don’t want to miss out on any good stuff!!!) The Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop officially starts at Diecut Diva’s blog. Check her out, she always has super stuff going on over there!

So, here is a little peek at my project for the Blog Hop. Since our theme is Weddings…well, my project is a dress box. It’s diecut from smooth white cardstock and was so easy to put together. And of course, we couldn’t leave the little thing “naked”, now could we?? I used a stamp from “In the Garden” by Fancy Pants and stamped the front and back of the dress with Versamark. Then I embossed it with gold embossing powder. I also dug out some ribbon and bling bling. (Pink pearls by Mark Richards and rhinestones by Hero Arts.) I also added some Hottie Pink Shimmerz. (Just a touch!) Also, to keep those boxes held together…try out the Red Line tape. Check it out here.

I know the theme here is wedding, but these little favor boxes could be diecut out of a multitude of papers. (And Terry over at Creative Cuts and more has a BUNCH of choices.) and would make great favor boxes for Princess Birthday parties or even something for prom.

Now since you have all been so patient…I do want to tell you that because you are hopping along and participating in our Blog Hop…Terry has offered up some Blog Candy for me to give away. (She is one generous woman!!) . Hummm…..do you want to know what Terry is letting me give away?? How about a chipboard 4x4 album!!! Yep…that includes dividers, covers and pages. Also, included with that will be a 6x6 album too!! Which also includes covers, dividers and pages. They are fab!!! And one lucky person will receive both of them!!! So just leave me a comment and tell me the best idea you have for a mini album idea, and I will randomly choose one person to receive this fabulous gift from Creative Cuts and More. Comments will close at 11:59 p.m. (MST)on Thursday, March 5.

Also, be sure to check back this week at the Diecut Diva blog, as there will be a new Customer Challenge posted later in the week. Who would want to miss that?? Now, to check out more projects and prizes….hop on over to Carla's blog.

Love the boxes and how versital they are. Would definitely be a hit for a princess party (have twin 5 yr old girls-I'd know!). My idea for a mini album is for my son. I have a bureau full of his art work since daycare at 2. (He's quite talented) I want to photo the great pieces in 4x6 with some kind of date line (and piece title) and call it Before You
Were Famous--The Early Years. He'l be able to flip thru with fond memories of creating the pieces and see how he's grown as an artist and I won't have to find room for it all just the best pieces in a portfolio. Thanks for doing the Hop. Its Fun

Great job on the dress box, it is so nice to see different takes on that box!!! I would love to work on some smaller albums to send to family in other states, so these would be awesome to win! Thanks to Terry and you for the chance to win!!!

Realized I posted my comment in the wrong spot. I love what you did with the dress box. As far as your question goes concerning mini albums, my daughter is student teaching. I think I will make one for each of the students in my daughter's 1st grade classroom. They will feature the info they gave us when they were star of the week. It would be fun to make them star shape for this.

I love this dress box. Adorable. As for the mini-albums - well, my folks celebrated their 40th anniversary this year so I bet I could put them to good use for that celebration!

Very pretty stuff!
How about a mini album in the shape of a tropical flower for scrapping a trip to Hawaii?
Thanks,

I love how you used stamps on yours. Beautiful. Such creativity frm all of you. As for the mini album idea...how about the front covered in the "dress" from your box and then the album dedicated to a baptism with the dress being decorated like the one for the person being baptised...

That dress is adorable! I really like it!

My best idea for a mini album is to focus on one theme, such as family pets, or a special vacation.

I would love to use the mini album to scrap an overnight trip we recently took for our 24th anniversary.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.

Angie - Love the dress! Actually reminds me of a beautiful dress I picked up in Barbados, not a wedding dress LOL but a wonderfully cheerful summer dress. As for the mini album, I have two boys, ten years apart and I would love to make each of them their own "baby album" with all the little things I remember about them when they were babies - like the time my youngest decided to paint the walls with his diaper and I just so happened to have a camera handy! He's a big bad Marine now, and wouldn't it be a treat for him to open up his album with my memories of him and for him! Thanks for the chance to expand my "memory" before I get too old.

My idea that I came up with for a mini album one time was for Mother's Day. I gave my mother a little flip book that said something like Nana's Garden. I had a flower for each of us in the album. Each flower center was a picture. Pretty cute. Thanks for the chance to win.

Love, love, love, your dress!! The gold stamping really sets it off, along with the pearls and the pink edging. Thanks for the chance to win.

Too weird that the person above me is me but not me... LOL anyway, I love these boxes and since the only mini album I've made was a baby one for someone else, I'd LOVE to make on of my kids for my dh who works out of province 1/2 the month!!! Thanks for the chance to win some great candy!

Since I just became a Grammie I would love to start baby and will become one again this month, I would like to do baby albums

Love the embossing and stamping on the dress. So beautiful.
I made a mini album for my dad for father's day instead of a card one year. All the kids signed one page of it and it's still on display 2 years later.

Forgot to say I would make a mini album for my granddaughter who is on her world travels. She posts photos on Facebook so I could have the ablum ready for when she returns home.

I am working on a book of me using Starbucks coffee cozies. I covered the cozies with patterned paper and cut bracket-shaped journaling cards to insert inside the cozies. I punched holes, inserted eyelets and put the whole thing on a ring. It looks great.

Angie, I love the paper you used on the dress! I checked out all the other blogs and one can hardly believe is the same pattern!!

Wow love your interpretation on the dress box. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

As for the blog candy...my idea for an minialbum is an "Birthday To Do". Depending on your age, example big 30, then list 30 adventures or things to try on your 30th year. Make an album of the list and have spaces for you to include pictures, thoughs, journallings, whether you did or did not do it, etc.

What do you think? Thanks for the chance to win.
